About Alex

Alex Kahn-Johnston is a native of Bethel, Connecticut. Following her 2004 graduation from Wooster School in neighboring Danbury, CT she attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania from which she graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Literature and a History minor.

While at Dickinson, Alex spent her junior year abroad in Málaga, Spain. During her spring semester in Málaga Alex was an assistant to the English instructor at a local secondary school. This internship allowed her to experience Spanish youth culture firsthand and to study the differences between American and Spanish systems of education.

Alex is currently the Spanish Teaching Fellow at Sandy Spring Friends School where she teaches Spanish I in the Upper School and is a member of the dorm staff. Besides a love of travel and new cultural experiences, Alex enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, and theatre.
