MS Drama meets four days a week (M,T,Th,F) for half of the school year. Students that sign-up for this course will be assigned either the first half or the second half of the year. Currently this course is only offered to 7th grade students.

Course Goals:

1) Provide opportunities for self-exploration and expression through a variety of dramatic arts exersizes.
2) Help students identify and define the fundamental elements of effective communication through theatrical presentations.

Students will have the opportunity to write and perform original monologues and scenes that inform the audience of the thoughts, ideas, and stories they feel are important or interesting. They will also engage in improvisation games and exercises that will help build self-confidence and stimulate creativity. The final weeks of the course will be spent preparing for our public performance, which is comprised of samples of the student’s work and is presented during the final week of the course.
