Personal Statement:
In 2000 I returned to SSFS, and teaching, after
spending a decade in teacher development, refugee education and training, and refugee resettlement. Having grown up a Quaker, and having attended
SSFS as a student, I have found the past seven years a rich and fulfilling
experience - one in which I have learned from my students easily as much
as I have taught them. My commitment as a teacher is to explore the world
with my students, no matter what the course, and instill in them an enthusiastic
thirst for knowledge, a boundless curiosity for the world, its diverse
people, and cultures, and a sense of obligation to respectfully let their
lives speak in whatever future endeavors they undertake.
