Students will be introduced to the basic workings of the camera and dark room procedures.  Working on their own level, students will have the oppotunity to develop their own technical and creative skills in photography.

Materials: The Photographic Eye O'Brien & Sibley
                  35 mm camera (manual) in working condition
                  Photo paper
                 Mounting boards
                negative files
                B & W film
              All materials are available at the bookstore (except for camera).
 

Projects:
Students are expected to follow the photography syllabus and complete the assignments each week.  Prints are to be mounted for presentation on 11" x 14" mounting boards.  Minimum of 16 finished prints is required.

Evaluation will be based on:

1. Minimum of 16 finished projects (80%)
    Skills--working knowledge of the camera, shoot film, develop film, printing, and mounting finished prints
A.  Print quality (25%)
B.  Composition (25%)
C.  Originality (25%)
D.  Personal Growth (25%)

2.  Class Participation (20%)
    Co-operation--follow directions, positive attitude, help where needed
    Work habits--being prepared for class, on task, caring for classroom
    Timliness--prompt and consistant

Attendance
All students are expected to attend class and participate fully.
