Growing up on a sheep and dairy farm in rural Frederick County, Maryland, Kip Kelley first began his relationship with Sandy Spring Friends School as a seventh grader, where he also began his formal study of the Spanish language.
Kip graduated from Sandy Spring Friends in 2002 to attended Grinnell College in Iowa, majoring in Spanish and completing the college’s Education Program, certifying him through the state to teach Spanish at the secondary level. While in college, Kip traveled to Spain and Mexico to compliment Grinnell’s Spanish curriculum.
Currently, Kip teaches Spanish and coaches soccer in the Sandy Spring Friends Middle School, lives on campus to serve as a dorm staff member in the Upper School and helps with his family farm’s fiber business, Kiparoo Farm.
