About Leah

Leah was born in Auburn, New York, in 1975. She attended Auburn High School, where she ran Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. After graduating in 1993, Leah attended Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and in her junior year attended the Hamilton College Academic Year in Spain after participating in the Summer Institute of Hispanic Studies in León.


Leah graduated from Hamilton College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She then attended Middlebury College's summer immersion graduate program in Middlebury, Vermont, for four summers, earning a Master of Arts in Spanish in 2002.


Leah currently teaches Spanish language at Sandy Spring Friends School. She is the assistant coach to the Cross Country and Track teams. At Sandy Spring Friends, Leah has enjoyed Intersessions to the SED center in Adams Morgan, DC, Costa Rica and Los Alamos, New Mexico.


Leah married Frank Niepold III in June 2001 and has two sons and a stepson. Her son Henry was born in April '06, Lucas was born in January '03 and her stepson Aiden was born in March '97. Leah and her family live in Olney, Maryland.
